Listen in for a review of the ACCORD BP trial, another episode in our series of podcasts devoted to discussing the landmark trials that have informed care and guidelines for the care of patients with hypertension. The ACCORD (Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes) BP trial explored whether intensive BP control (<120 mmHg) reduced rates of nonfatal MI, nonfatal stroke or CV mortality when compared with standard (<140 mmHg) blood pressure targets. Spoiler alert: it's complicated!!
